A support group provides a mutual benefit to the entire group through shared information and support of one another. Along with family and medical support, there is nothing comparable to having peers. Talking with people who have been through similar situations and experiences is beneficial to the group as a whole. You will be welcomed in an environment that provides an opportunity to explore your inner thoughts and feelings without judgment, an awareness of common needs and strengths, as well as shared information. Support groups provide an active listening place and promote a sense of being understood.
